I love strategy guides; from where I'm at I can count over twenty, and this is far and away the best strategy guide I've ever seen. It's beautiful, extremely detailed, and it omits the pages and pages of useless fluff common to larger American Strategy guides. That isn't too say it's small, it's HUGE, just packed with desirable information. The information in here is extremely useful from start to finish and comes off as a labor of love. I don't know who this company is but I wish they would make strategy guides for the US, because we can't compare.Thirty bones and shipping seems extremely steep for a strategy guide, and it is, but in case you hadn't heard, this is a European guide because the American Guide Manufacturer had some sort of issue and it went largely unreleased. So not only is it an amazing piece of video game guidance, it is a rare import as well.
It is also worth mentioning that Bayonetta is deep enough to merit a guide such as this, many of the nuances of the game don't come out so well on gamefaqs: here they're clear, concise, and include the type of advice that you get from someone who really knows the game, instead of the standard BS "Aim for the head to do more damage!" that's regurgitated from the in game tutorial.
I would agree that all valid reviews have criticisms, because nothing is perfect, but seriously, I can't think of anything to criticize here. This guide will make your other guides seem pathetic in comparison. That's definitely true. You'll wonder how the **** you're going to get more of these guides from Europe, that's going to be a negative as well.
Buy this right now. However hyperbolic the above sounds, I mean every word of it without exaggeration.

Is broken
I don't think I can say much more good about this guide than others already have. Easily the best game guide I've ever owned.
The only con to this book is that it is very heavy. I bumped mine off a table and it landed in a bad way and the weight of all the pages ripped the book from the spine. Be careful!
That being said, I love this guide enough I'm getting another to replace it.
The guidebook is just so much more then your average guidebook. Sure it dosen't come with a poster, but it makes up for it with its amazing extras. Reasons why this book is worth the money.

Well written, this is a large book with so much content, you can really tell they worked hard to bring you the best experience possible.
Nice extras such as an intview with the developer and video help on the website with the special codes in the book.
Cons
I wish it was avalible at local bookstores so I wouldn't have to import it, but that wasn't a problem.
The binding is a bit farther then most books from the hardcover and the book is quite heavy on the binding, yet its sturdy and dosen't show signs of ripping of any sort.
Overall this is an amazing book that I would reccomend as not only a guidebook filled with content and maps, but as a collectors item because of the detailed analysis and concept art.
The amount of detail in Bayonetta The Official Guide is truley impressive.
This guide is very useful and has everything you need to get through all the levels and to beat every boss in the game. This guide is also very helpful if you are playing the game on climax difficult and if you want to get platuim as well.
First i love this game. The storyline is geart. The contorls are smooth and you can go from one move to another. The game comes with a custom soundtrack so you can listion to your music while playing. Bayonetta is the story on being "caught in the middel of an age-old rivalry, she uses her demon-summoning powers to fight off legions of angelic enemies. As she uncovers the astounding truth of her origins and discovers she alone may hold the key to saving all of creation. The non-stop action will leave you with a racing pluse.
The amount of detail in this guide is staggering.
I mostly buys guides for the artwork for adventure games.
The only ones I use/open are for fighting games.
BUT
Bayonetta's fighting system is so deep, I wanted to learn how to REALLY play this game on that godmode granny smacking level.
And if there is anything that will get ,e on that level, THIS IS IT.
